In early 2023, OF Bell was referred to us by a mutual contact as part of a wider rebranding project. The client team was looking for a fresh, new website that clearly communicated this precision engineering manufacturer's brand values as the business celebrated 50 years in the industry, building a strong foundation for growth in the coming years.

OF Bell's family-run component engineering and manufacturing business is based in Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham, and has designed, manufactured and distributed quality complex miniature component products for over 50 years.

OF Bell’s accurate, functional and fully-tested complex components are designed, engineered and manufactured in the UK by an experienced, highly-skilled team, forming a key part of clients’ supply chains for sectors including:

Following investment into the business's facilities and services in recent years, OF Bell’s team knew they needed to communicate their brand values more clearly, as well as defining their complete service offer which distinguishes OF Bell in the complex component engineering and manufacturing sector.

Getting to know you: Brand messaging to support bespoke website development

Following Ally’s unique Define, Develop and Grow marketing methodology, we met up with the client face-to-face on site in Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham, for a marketing and brand consultancy session.

By spending time in the business, Ally was able to see OF Bell in action, allowing us to better understand the business’s DNA, how it works and thinks, and to start to identify the brand values that lie at the heart of this growing business. Working closely with the client team, brand messaging was developed and a new strapline incorporated into the business's branding to help define OF Bell further: "Complex Component Engineering".

Following our brand definition work during Define, OF Bell's new strapline and messaging was carried forward into a comprehensive website design brief and written content that created a bespoke, sleek new website for our client. As part of this Develop phase, Ally's team coordinated with OF Bell's appointed photographer and videographer, as well as the client's long-standing design partner, to deliver a seamless website project that was fully managed from start to finish.

Life after launch: What's next for OF Bell?

From the outset, Ally discussed life after its website launch with OF Bell.

The launch of a website is just the beginning of the story, and Ally is now working with our Marketing Manager client every month during our Grow phase to support its website and marketing strategy through SEO, website maintenance and development, content and copywriting and social media management that consistently works to achieve value for the client from its initial investment through increased brand awareness and enhanced search performance.
